BIPOC Trail & Water Hike

WNC AAPI invites you to join us for a 3-4 mile group hike in Pisgah National Forest.
Our hope with BIPOC hikes is to empower people of color to explore the outdoors in the WNC region. We share knowledge of our favorite hikes and enjoy the community and safety that we find together. If you've ever felt discomfort hiking alone, join us! We particularly hope to provide BIPOC women and LBGTQ+ folks with the opportunity to meet and form hiking friends and groups. All genders are welcome.

Who is this event for?
This event is intended only for BIPOC nature fans, and Family & Friends of the WNC AAPI community.

Event Itinerary

11:00am: Meet up at designated trailhead (TBA)

The trail is an easy to moderate trail through forested hills. Once we hit the water, the rest of the hike becomes more difficult with lots of rocks to scramble and swimming holes to cool down in. A few sections of the stream have been washed out and can be a little tricky to navigate. Trekking poles can be helpful but not necessary.

Be sure to wear closed-toe hiking shoes or sandals that can get wet!
Well-mannered dogs are welcome.

Be Prepared! What You Should Bring

Bring a water bottle and snacks for yourself or to share.

Your preferred hiking footwear & swimsuit, backpack, sunscreen, first aid kit, sketchbook, walking sticks, etc.

Parking

There is limited parking at the trailhead.
Carpooling strongly encouraged!
